Supersnake conversion procedure part 3

The G.R.P. panels have an excellent finish and are available in a range of solid coloured high gloss gel coat, saving on the cost of spraying, (between £3000 and £5000 for an entire Cobra now, done professionally), however if you require a metallic finish then it has to be painted but will cost considerably less due to the smaller area. I would estimate around £600 to £800.

If this was done by the builder using hired equipment about £250. The prototype uses a translucent gold coloured stainless steel on the doors, wings and sills also available in black, blue, red, and natural highly polished or brushed finishes. A colour matched high gloss vinyl skin is applied to the top of the doors, I will also offer this in either matching or contrasting colours to cover all the steel panels if required.

The doors are larger than a Cobra offering better access and the seating position is lower and wider enabling the use of the Mondeo seats if the builder wishes with leg room to suit short and very tall drivers.

You sit down in the car looking through the windscreen, not perched high up looking at the header rail as I have found to be the case with Cobra replicas.

The road springs are then replaced with the specially developed re rated and lowered units supplied, to account for the reduced weight of the car.
